Raw

Sometimes, working at a “church”, I get my priorities mixed up.

  • I’d rather hear a podcast/sermon about church strategy and structure than hear from God through his Word.
  • I protect my “ministry image” than share vulnerably with those around me my deep struggles.
  • I’d rather work on my approval with those on staff than seeking the approval of God.

Those are just some things. I won’t go into the privilege of working at Stone yet but just wanted to share in the times when we realize deep convictions that there is also a deep well of grace. Thank you Jesus! Help my heart be true to you!

That is a link for us to watch some videos – but to help us more importantly fervently pray for the nations.

DG Conference.

I wish I could write out what I experienced at the DesiringGod conference. The nature/culture of the conference was very different but any other conferences I have ever been. Wasn’t glamorous or fancy, it was just..about Jesus.

Let our hearts be willing to listen to you Jesus.

Hallelujah What a Savior!

“His nearness is my good.”

I’m convinced God has placed me where I am for specific reasons. Specifically, I’m inclined to believe that right now, as I sit with names of “Goers” committed to the nations in front of me, that God is moving. Looking at these names and places where they are going, my heart is bent to pray. Not to pray for just safety, but to pray that they would reveal the beauty of God’s glory in whatever way He desires. Beyond our felt needs, we who are His children should know He will take care of us.  I leave with this quote.

“We hold on to the things we should forget; and forget the things we oughtto remember.” – Tim Keller.

God, give us joyful remembrance.

Experiences.

As I just graduated, there is a huge desire for me to want to “see and experience the world”. I think that’s one of the dangerous beauties of Facebook. You see exotic and exciting pictures that entice you to the belief that you NEED those experiences. The only experience worth thinking and pursuing is the experience of Christ. He is all you need. It’s ironically funny how sometimes we think that we want to be free from Christ to pursue the “worldly things”. But in reality, we are the ones who are slaves to the world. We are chained to the imaginary satisfactions of wordly pleasure and fail to realize how those pleasures last maybe as long as morning dew. Christianity does not chain you nor jail you, it sets you free. Jesus, lead me to pursue heavenly things rather than worldly. For I know what you have in store for me is greater than what I can ever even dream of. That is true.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. -John 3:17

He is no fool to give up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. J.Elliot

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
